Goodbye to Costa Rica
At 8:30 on Sunday the 19th, I woke up and went downstairs
for some breakfast (tangerines, banana bread, juice, and of
course red beans and rice). Suzanne and I wandered to a gift
shop across the street that was open and had some fun looking around. Then it was time
to return to the Inn and to the bus. We
left at 11:20 and got to the airport. Everything went smoothily. I even managed to get some good rum for Bill and we boarded the plane about 2 pm. The
flight into Guatemala was uneventful. The attendants did not let us leave the plane and after a bout of musical chairs where everyone switched to their
new seats (and I had leg room!), we headed home to DC. The flight was long but routine. As we left the airplane and shuttled over to the terminal at
Dulles, we heard that Mason had beat Carolina that day. It was a perfect ending to a perfect trip! (My apologies to my Carolina relatives!)
